On the evening of October 21, the Festival of Belgium’s Cuisine and Culture was opened at Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Culture Palace. Attending the ceremony were H.E. Karl Van den Bossche, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Hanoi, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Khac Nam, with a numerous number of clients, domestic and foreign partners.
The Embassy of the Belgian Kingdom authorized the DEEP C Industrial Park to organize the ceremony. This is the second time Belgium’s cuisine and culture festival has been organized on a big scale in Hai Phong, introducing the city’s residents the typical culture of Belgium through harmonious combination of beers, foods, and music.
Giving a speech at the opening ceremony, H.E Karl Van den Bossche underlined that the series of events represented the DEEP C’s gratitude to Hai Phong for always accompanying and standing side by side with DEEP C during its 25-year development journey. That has been the biggest project of Belgium in Vietnam. DEEP C hoped that the event would strengthen the close relationship between Hai Phong and the Kingdom of Belgium, thereby attracting more Belgium’s businesses to the city.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Khac Nam emphasized that the Festival of Belgium’s Cuisine and Culture is a unique idea created by the Embassy of Belgium to introduce unique features of culture and cuisine of Europe in general and Belgium in particular to the local residents.
