In the jubilant atmosphere to welcome the great holidays of the historic May, on the evening of March 27, at the multi-purpose Competition Gymnasium of the City Sports Complex, the City People’s Committee solemnly opened the 09th Hai Phong City Sports Festival.
Attending the Festival were the City’s leaders and leaders of representatives of relevant Departments, agencies, localities and units.
Participating in the 9th City Sports Festival Opening Ceremony, there were delegations of athletes from 15 districts, armed forces, agencies and units competing in 21 sports with more than 3,000 athletes, 500 coaches, and 650 referees.
In recent years, Hai Phong City has implemented policies to encourage and develop physical training and sport movements, contributing to improving health and diversifying the people’s spiritual and cultural life. Technical infrastructure for sports activities has been invested, such as Project on Boat Racing Training Area of the city for SEA Games 31; Project on upgrading and repairing Lach Tray Stadium, and the City Sports Complex, etc.
On behalf of the city’s leaders, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Commitee Le Khac Nam requested departments, agencies, social organizations, and people of all classes to continue to pay attention to the city’s sports cause and strive to well implement the Action Program of the City People’s Committee on Hai Phong City’s sports development./.
