Offering effective assistance and care for agent orange victims

Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee visited and offered gifts to the City’s Association of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Agent Orange Disaster in Viet Nam (10/8/1961 – 10/8/2021), Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee paid a visit and offered gifts to the City’s Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims; visited Dao Van Manh - an agent orange victim living at No. 52/34 Tan Vien Street, Thuong Ly Ward (Hong Bang District) and gave encouragement to him. Mr. Le Ngoc Tru, Secretary of Hong Bang District Party Committee and leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the City Military Command and the Office of the City Party Committee joined the visit.

At the visit, Mr Do Manh Hien acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the Association's officials who have always been actively mobilizing and joining hands with the society to encourage, take care and support effectively to help the families and victims of Agent Orange. This also expresses the heart and love of the soldiers towards their comrades and relatives who have been suffering from difficulties and impacts of Agent Orange, etc... He emphasized that: with the policy on ensuring social welfare to step ahead of economic development, in the coming time, the city will continue to spend funding, join hands with the whole society to have specific support for Agent Orange victims to partly alleviate their difficulties and help them to rise in life. At the same time, the city will continue to implement this policy and arrange headquarters for the social organizations and unions, including the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims.

Visiting Dao Van Manh - a victim of agent orange living at No. 52/34 Tan Vien Street, Thuong Ly Ward (Hong Bang District), Mr. Do Manh Hien kindly asked after him and requested the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and local authority as well as relevant associations to continue to provide better care, encouragement and practical support to him and his family. Dao Van Manh is the youngest son in the family. His father participated in the war and was affected by agent orange, therefore, he is unable to work and needs special care. The City Association of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims called for the benefactors to donate a wheelchair to Dao Van Manh in order to help him be more convenient in daily activities.
