Nearly 500 People Attend International Yoga Day in Hai Phong

On the morning of July 14th, at To Huu Park (Hong Bang District), the Hai Phong City People's Committee, in cooperation with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, organized International Yoga Day in Hai Phong. The event was attended by Subhash Prasad Gupta, the Indian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam, representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs, various agencies, and nearly 500 members from Yoga Clubs across the city.
The Indian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam delivered a speech at the event.
Mr. Subhash Prasad Gupta, the Indian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam, expressed his happiness in attending this event marking the 10th International Yoga Day in Hai Phong. He emphasized that Yoga is not only a physical activity but also has spiritual significance. Through practice, it helps individuals live joyfully, healthily, and harmoniously, both physically and mentally. Yoga is becoming increasingly popular in Hai Phong in particular and Vietnam in general, with over 4,000 Yoga centers and clubs currently active and nearly half a million Vietnamese practicing Yoga. This growing interest is encouraging and brings practical benefits to those involved.
The Indian Yoga instructor guided the participants through the exercises.
According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs: The International Yoga Day which is initiated by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, has gradually become a familiar cultural exchange event held annually in many provinces and cities across Vietnam. This is the third time the Indian Embassy in Vietnam has coordinated with Hai Phong to organize this event.
The event attracted the nearly 500 participants from Yoga clubs.
It is expected that in the coming years, both sides will continue to collaborate in organizing International Yoga Day in Hai Phong on a larger, more professional scale, attracting even more participants. This would contribute to spreading the positive values of Yoga, promoting physical exercise, enhancing the health of the city's residents, and strengthening the cultural ties between Vietnam and India.
