On the morning of March 20, at the City’s Opera House, Hai Phong Youth Union and Hai Phong Department of Sports and Culture co-organized Olympic Running Day 2022 for public health and the Marathon within the framework of the 9th Hai Phong City Sports Festival. This is a significant and practical activity of the city’s youth to welcome congress of Youth Union at all levels and the 91st founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Attending the event were representatives of the Central Youth Union, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the city’s leadership. The event gathered more than 1,300 people from different units.
Giving a speech at the event, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Khac Nam emphasized, Olympic Running Day for public health was a big event to launch and promote physical training and sports movements of entire city people, being a place gathering the public, clubs’ members, teenagers and youngsters, students, officials, civil servants, and armed forces in the city. Particularly, in the current context, the whole country has been fighting against the complicated development of COVID-19 pandemic, the organization of Running Day has contributed to propaganda people to exercise, improve their health, and contribute to the pandemic prevention and control.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizers awarded 20 excellent prizes to the units with high achievements in the Olympic Running Day 2022 for public health, and 02 medals for men’s and women’s marathon event.
