On the afternoon of May 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a national online workshop to collect comments on the Project "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture". Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired the workshop; also attending were Comrade Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries and branches, and many experts and researchers.

The project “Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture” aims to build an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, becoming an endogenous force for rapid and sustainable national development, enhancing the country's position in the international arena. The project also expects to reach new heights in artistic creation, creating world-class works; forming many cultural products and brands with quality and global competitiveness, exporting cultural goods and services to international markets; at the same time, building Vietnam into an attractive destination for international cultural and artistic events...
At the workshop, scientists, ministries, central and local sectors discussed the key contents of the project, including: orientation for the development of Vietnamese culture and arts in the new era of the nation; the role of culture, cultural and creative industries, driving forces for the country's sustainable development; the Party's policies and guidelines and some orientations for the development of internationalization of Vietnamese culture; the role of cultural diplomacy in the process of internationalization of Vietnamese culture; some initiatives and solutions for applying science and technology, innovation, digital transformation in the process of developing Vietnamese culture to reach the international level...
Sharing experiences at the workshop, comrade Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, informed that since 2015, the Department has actively organized propaganda of the Party's policies on foreign cultural affairs and international integration; at the same time, proactively advised the City People's Committee to organize many international cultural and sports exchange activities. Notably, the city coordinated and promoted the world natural heritage of Cat Ba archipelago to the world on CNN television channel; connected domestic and foreign film crews, chose Hai Phong as the setting for many film works; hosted many international cultural and sports events, such as: ASEAN Music Festival; ASEAN graphic exhibition, hosting Rowing and Canoeing/Kayak races in the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) program... In the coming time, Hai Phong will continue to promote "soft power" to contribute to affirming its important position in world politics, the global economy and human civilization, specifically: Completing the dossier to submit to UNESCO to honor the cultural celebrity Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem; honoring the art of Cheo to the list of representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity...
The opinions and discussions of managers, researchers and cultural experts were received, synthesized and proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with strategic directions and specific solutions to promote the promotion of Vietnamese culture to the world, selectively absorb the quintessence of human culture, as well as strongly promote the role of culture in the new era of the country.
