The City Farmers’ Union had just organized the launching ceremony of the movement “Farmers and fishermen participating in marine environment protection”, at the same time introducing the model “Marine waste separation at the source” at Cultural House of Quan Muc Village of Dai Hop Commune in Kien Thuy Rural District.
According to Mr. Do Duc Hoa, Chairman of the City Farmers’ Union, the Union’s Standing Committee had implemented Plan no. 282 on launching the movement and developing the aforementioned model to enhance the participation of the Union’s subordinate units, officials, members, farmers and fishermen in gathering, separating, transporting and treating waste at sea-bordering areas.
Numerous initiatives and good models for marine environment protection had been proposed, including “Say No to single-use plastic products”, “Farmers, fishermen to participate in marine environment protection”, “Marine waste separation at the source”, “Farmers collect and build storage tanks for used pesticide packages”, “Green Sunday”, exemplary green routes, etc. The city had established 857 models “Farmers’ joint effort in environment protection” so far.
