On the morning of June 7, Mr. Lê Khắc Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, received a delegation from Yunnan Tongdian Air Travel Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Hu Chaizhu, General Director of the company, to discuss the launch of a direct flight route between Hai Phong and Lijiang (China). The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant departments, agencies, and units.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Lê Khắc Nam emphasized that establishing new international flight routes to and from Cat Bi International Airport is a key policy of Hai Phong city. These routes are crucial for promoting the city’s economic, trade, and tourism development. The direct Hai Phong – Lijiang flight, once operational, will not only enhance mutual development and cultural exchange between the two regions but also meet the demands for economic, trade, and especially tourism exchanges, as well as the travel needs of residents and investors.

Regarding preparations for the inaugural flight, scheduled for June 15, the Vice Chairman tasked the Department of Foreign Affairs to collaborate with Cat Bi International Airport, the Department of Tourism, and other relevant agencies to ensure proper arrangements, including protocol, guest invitations, and event organization. The Department of Foreign Affairs was also instructed to actively coordinate with media outlets and relevant units to effectively promote the new flight route to the public across the city and the country, boosting tourism demand and ensuring the route's sustainability and growth.

Expressing gratitude for the city’s warm welcome, Mr. Hu Chaizhu, General Director of Yunnan Tongdian Air Travel Co., Ltd., highlighted that the launch of the direct flight route will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Hai Phong and Yunnan Province, particularly with Lijiang City. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Hu proposed that the city provide policy support for the new flight route, coordinate the launch event, and enhance tourism collaboration between Hai Phong and Yunnan to maximize the benefits of the Hai Phong – Lijiang route.
