(HPDT)- On November 9, Department of Science and Technology held the conference on reviewing the research, compilation, publication performance and introduction of the project"History of Hai Phong".

The conference was attending by Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mrs. Dao Khanh Ha, Head of the City Committee for Propaganda and Education; Leaders of Party building commissions, departmentsof the City; Members of Steering Committee for research and compilation of Hai Phong history, Editor-in-Chief of the project, Editor-in-Chief of Volumes; relevant scientists partcipating in research, compilation and editing of the project.

Dr. Tran Quang Tuan, Director of Department of Science and Technology reported on the research, compilation and publication performance of the project.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Vice President of Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences gave a speech at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam stated that The City Party Committee and the City People's Committee had developed the plan to carry out the research, compilation and publication of the project"History of Hai Phong" quite a long time ago. Although the project tooks more than 20 years to be completed, the final result of nearly 2,000 pages (4 volumes) with many illustrations, well-designed format, profound and meaningful content demonstrated the unique historical value of Port city in the most objective and truthful manner..jpg)

Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee presented the book series "History of Hai Phong" to leaders of departments, units and scientists.
It can be said that the project "History of Hai Phong", meticulously and methodically researched, is the the book series of Hai Phong City with the direct participation of Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, leading researchers and experts in historical science of Vietnam. The project reflected quite fully, objectively and truthfully the historical and cultural traditions of the land and people of Hai Phong City along the national and ethnic history development processassociated with the history of Vietnam Communist Party in general, and the history of Hai Phong City Party Committee in particular. At the same time, it contributed a valuable documentary source to Vietnam history. This is really a great project of significant meaning to the City with stature and academic value, ensuring its science and practicality, meeting the needs of researching, teaching, learning, and understanding history of many officials, party members and people of the City. The project is also valuable for propagandizing and orienting political ideology, arousing pride, and promoting the brilliant traditions of the city’s people in particular and the Vietnamese people in general in the cause of struggle, construction and defense of Fatherland.
The Project "History of Hai Phong" is the first historical book series to present the entire history of nearly 20,000 years of Hai Phong City, from primitive times to 2020. The Project consists of 4 volumes and are published in 2 forms: print publication and online publication posted on the portal of Hai Phong City (haiphong.gov.vn); the portal of Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology (sokhcn.haiphong.gov.vn); the portal of Hai Phong Science and Technology (hpstic.vn).
On this occasion, a collective and 7 individuals with excellent achievements in compilation, completion and publication of the project on "History of Hai Phong" were awarded Certificates of Merit from Chairman of the City People's Committee./.
