After Cat Ba archipelago was recognized as a World Natural Heritage along with Ha Long Bay, the number of visitors to Cat Ba increased significantly, especially international visitors. Unlike previous years, at the end of this year, the number of international visitors to Cat Ba increased quite high. This is a positive signal for Cat Hai district to prepare for tourism infrastructure to meet the demand of tourists which is expected to increase sharply in 2024.
In the last few days of 2023, not only at Gót ferry or Bèo wharf are crowded with tourist, but on the bays of Cat Ba archipelago, there are also a large number of international tourists visiting and enjoying the beauty of of Lan Ha Bay - Member of the World's Most Beautiful Bays Club Association. Tours to visit the bay during the day or tours to stay overnight are the choices of international tourists at the end of the year. Thanks to proactively improving the quality of civilized and modern tourism services and the green, clean and beautiful landscape of the bays, tourists feel satisfied when visiting the World Natural Heritage.
In 2023, the total number of visitors to Cat Ba is estimated to reach more than 3 million, an increase of 29% compared to last year, of which, for the first time, Cat Ba tourism welcomes more than a half of million international visitors. With the positive recovery prospects of tourism and the fact that Cat Ba archipelago is the World Natural Heritage, Cat Hai district aims to welcome 3.6 million visitors in 2024. Tourism has contributed important part to the economy of the island district.
