The U.S. Mission in Vietnam has officially announced Fulbright scholarship and academic exchange programs for individuals and hosting institutions in Vietnam. This initiative aims to foster mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchanges, opening numerous professional development and international integration opportunities for officials, teachers, and educational units.

- Fulbright Master's Scholarship (2027-2028 Academic Year)
The program expects to award up to 20 full scholarships for the Master's level to Vietnamese citizens to study at universities in the United States.
- Benefits: Recipients are fully funded for tuition, monthly living stipends, health insurance, and round-trip airfare.
- Criteria: Applicants must be Vietnamese citizens, university graduates, possess at least 02 years of work experience, and hold an English certificate (minimum TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, or equivalent).
- Fields of Study: The scholarship supports all disciplines except for medicine, dentistry, and nursing.
- Application Deadline: 5:00 PM, April 15, 2026.
- Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program in Hai Phong (2026-2027)
In implementation of the U.S. Embassy's document, the Hai Phong City People's Committee has tasked the Department of Education and Training with broadly disseminating information regarding the selection of host units for Fulbright ETAs.
- Eligible Hosts: Specialized high schools, colleges, and universities within the city.
- Activities: U.S. ETAs will assist in teaching listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills, and participate in extracurricular activities, STEM clubs, and cultural events at the schools for 10 months.
- Requirements for Schools: Hosting institutions must provide free, safe, and private accommodation, support visa procedures, and arrange a Vietnamese language teacher for the assistant.
- Application Deadline for Host Requests: Before March 15, 2026.
- Fulbright Specialist Program 2026 (Freedom 250)
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, this program sends high-level specialists to Vietnam for short-term assignments lasting from 02 to 06 weeks.
- Priority Fields: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, STEM, Agriculture, Law, Public Health, and Cultural Heritage.
- Activities: Specialists will participate in curriculum development, organize workshops, provide training, or offer human resource consultancy.
- Hosting Units: Government agencies, research institutes, universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and cultural units.
- Application Deadline: Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
- Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching (Fulbright TEA 2026-2027)
This program supports secondary school teachers in honing their teaching skills and enhancing professional expertise in the United States for 06 weeks.
- Target Audience: Full-time teachers at public high schools or middle schools with at least 03 years of experience teaching English, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Special Education.
