From October 30th to November 1st, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Department of Environmental Health, Health Care Without Harm (HCWH), UNICEF Vietnam, UNDP, ADB, CHERAD, and FHI 360, successfully hosted the International Conference on Climate Change, Health, and Green Healthcare Systems in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Attended the event was the Deputy Minister of Health, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Thị Liên Hương, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee, Lê Khắc Nam, leaders from the Ministry of Health, local hospitals, and over 100 international delegates from more than 10 countries and regions worldwide.

The conference aimed to foster stronger leadership and advocacy for health actions addressing climate change across Asia, moving towards a sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient region.
Key topics discussed included sustainable healthcare procurement, air pollution, climate, health, energy efficiency, sustainable food systems, climate change impacts on mental health, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in hospitals.
The conference successfully raised awareness, improved practices, and promoted green and sustainable initiatives in healthcare across the region, with a focus on Vietnam. It contributed to minimizing the environmental impacts of healthcare, enhancing resource efficiency, and fostering a culture of sustainability in Vietnamese healthcare facilities. This conference serves as a regional platform and catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and the dissemination of best practices, leading to positive changes in the healthcare sector in Asia.
