(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On October 29 morning, at the City Conference Center, Mr. Le Khac Nam, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, participated in the online meeting on implementation of national strategy on green growth in years of 2021-2030, vision to 2050, which was hosted by Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, member of Party Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment. Representatives of relevant departments and units also attended the meeting.

Give speech at the connection point of Hai Phong City, Mr. Le Khac Nam, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, underlined that, Hai Phong has implemented the city economic restructures towards attracting high tech projects friendly to environment, high tech agricultural enterprises attraction; commercial services and luxurious tourism. The city continues to choose the topic of the year annually towards investment and business environment improvement, construction of a green, modern and civilized port city. The city has combined green growth targets with eco-social development targets and annually developed eco-social indicators of departments, units and localities. After 07 years of implementing Action Plan to implement the National Strategy on green growth, Hai Phong has achieved some remarkable results, such as 100% households use clean water according to standards, 100% and 91% waste get collected and treated hygienically in urban and rural areas respectively, 21.2% waste water at urban areas treated in alignment with technical standards, 86% clinics and disease treatment and health care waste treatment meeting environmental criteria; 75% industrial clusters established with centralized wastewater treatment system responding to environmental standards. Mr. Le Khac Nam shared certain experiences in implementation of the city’s plan, such as soon constructing and launching GGAP appropriate with factual situation of the locality, annually implementing the operation scrutiny, assessment and report, establishing and applying in pilot indicators relating to green economic development internally and externally, being active in research cooperation and research outputs application of green growth targets aligned with practical situation at locality, boosting experiences exchange with other domestic localities and foreign cities under sister-city and diplomatic relations with Hai Phong in green economic model application.
Ongoing time, implementing the National strategy on green growth in years of 2021-2030, vision to 2050, Hai Phong identified crucial targets, missions, and measures to build up the green, modern and civilized city, which consists of:
First, construction and launching an Action Plan to implement the city’s green growth strategy in the years of 2021 – 2030, vision to 2050.
Second, data establishment on green growth grounded on database and statistical indicators systems researched and launched by the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Register to be selected as one of pioneering cities to pilot the “Combined Green Growth Index” nationwide.
Third, tech application, digital transformation, economic model transmission towards greening, accomplished and practical model implementation including green ports, green islands, manufacturing environment-friendly models, reduction of energy consumption, research for investment and application of renewable energy resources such as wind energy, wave energy, etc., enhancing green-towards transformation process in social fields such as employment, labor, health care, tourism.
Fourth, explore and use natural and mineral resources towards sustainability, implementing greening activities in lifestyle and consumption, sustainable and green purchasing, strengthening prevention and getting fixed hotspots on pollution, enhancing effective management of water, waste, and air quality.
Fifth, support enterprises in tech innovation, clean manufacturing, and limitation of economic fields releasing big amounts of gas emission.
Sixth, stimulate urbanization towards smart and sustainable urban; build up new rural areas carrying good living standards, protect and develop scenery and environment.
Also, Mr. Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee inquired the Central Government, Ministry of Planning and Investment to soon do research, establishment and launching national action plan on green growth, accomplish legal framework on combination between green growth criteria and eco-social development planning in 05-year phase and annually, take Hai Phong as pilot application city of implementation of the “synchronous green growth Indicators”, support Hai Phong in terms of technique, methods, and human resource to implement entry data collection upon criteria of the phase 2021-2025.
