Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for Jeil Logistics 1, a project by South Korea’s Jeil Group, was held in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai Phong City.
This project, backed by Jeil Group, aims to offer warehousing, container storage, and rental services. It received its investment license in late 2022, with a total capital of over US$44.5 million and on a land area of nearly 80,000 m². It is scheduled to start operations in Q3 2026.
Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said: “Jeil Logistics 1 will not only create thousands of local jobs and support social welfare, but also significantly enhance the region’s logistics capacity. It serves as a catalyst to attract further logistics-related investment, both globally and from Korea.”
Ms. Kim Eun Sook, CFO of Jeil Group, added that the facility will be more than just a warehouse — it will act as a core infrastructure hub within Vietnam’s supply chain. With state-of-the-art logistics technologies and efficient supply chain management, the project will deliver faster and more accurate services, reducing costs and boosting competitiveness. It is also expected to spur job creation and regional economic growth.
“Jeil Group aspires to partner with Vietnam to shape a brighter future together. We pledge to grow alongside Vietnam through diverse projects, and our Vietnamese team will strive to achieve this vision,” emphasized Ms. Kim Eun Sook.
South Korea leads foreign investment in Hai Phong, with FDI totaling US$13 billion across 111 projects—46% of total investment into the city’s industrial parks and economic zones. Both Vietnam and Hai Phong regard South Korea as a key partner and prioritize partnership in economics, trade, and investment.
The achievements of Korean investors in Hai Phong underscore the city’s appeal as an investment destination. The success of this hightech logistics center will enhance economic exchanges between Vietnam and South Korea and elevate Hai Phong's status as a logistics hub in Northern Vietnam.
Mr. Park Jin Hong, Counsellor for Construction and Transport at the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, noted that relations between the two nations were upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Since 2022, Vietnam has become South Korea’s third-largest trade partner, with annual trade growing steadily. The Jeil Logistics 1 project is therefore timely and meaningful for strengthening economic ties.
“Given Hai Phong’s role as the largest commercial port and logistics center in Northern Vietnam, this high-quality, Koreantechnology logistics center will boost economic exchanges and contribute significantly to local logistics development,” added Mr. Park Jin Hong.
Mr. Le Trung Kien urged the investor to remain responsible, pursue effective and sustainable operations, and collaborate with the city on workforce training, employee welfare, social programs, and environmentally friendly technologies to reduce emissions and support green transformation.
Hai Phong City pledged its full support for the project’s smooth and long-term success. The Economic Zone Management Board and city departments will closely monitor progress and ensure optimal conditions for sustainable development.
“With strong investor commitment and government support, this project will stay on schedule, deliver results, and attract future satellite projects,” Mr. Kien affirmed.
