In 5 years, from 2020 to 2025, Haiphong put forth many targets in different fields. The city is trying to basically finish the industrialization and modernization cause by 2025, become an industrial city in modern direction, a key sea economic development hub, a tourism center in Vietnam. This will create firm foundation for the city to become a modern, civilized and sustainable developed industrial city in Southeast Asia in 2030.
To 2025, Haiphong set the target to basically complete the contrsution of the city's political administrative center in the Bac Song Cam urban area, complete criteria of grade 1 urban city, improve the people's material and spiritual life, well keep social order and security, national security, have neat, effective, pure and powerful party and political organization, create firm foundation to become a modern, civilized and sustainable developed industrial city in Southeast Asia in 2030. Main social, economic criteria are set high, suitable with the orientations set in resolution No.45 of the Politburo. Main economic targets are GRDP growth reaching 14.5% / year, GRDP in 2025 reaching usd 11,800 /capita, the total social investment in 2021-2025 is vnd 1,200 thousand billion, export turnover to 2025 is usd 35 billion, cargo throughput Haiphong in 2025 reaching 300 million tons, the number of tourists in 2025 hitting 20 million, by 2025 Haiphong has all communes basically fulfilled crteria of model new rural areas./.
