On the morning of March 5, 2026, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Tien Phung chaired a working session with a delegation from the Czech Republic led by Mr. Jaroslav Zukerstein, Chargé d'Affaires of the Czech Embassy in Vietnam, along with representatives from MEGA Company – an enterprise specializing in water treatment technology, membrane technology, and environmental services. The meeting aimed to discuss and explore cooperation opportunities in clean water supply, wastewater treatment, and technological solutions to optimize the city's water supply system.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Vojtěch Filip, former Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, who has made significant contributions to the construction and development of the Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, fostering friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and the Czech Republic. Representatives from city departments and relevant agencies were also present.
Welcoming the delegation to Haiphong, Vice Chairman Vu Tien Phung provided an overview of the city's potential and development orientation as a key industrial and seaport hub in Northern Vietnam. Haiphong continues to promote investment in high-tech industries, with a strong focus on sustainable development and environmental protection. He expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides based on their long-standing traditional foundation, particularly in infrastructure and environmental conservation.

During the session, Mr. Vojtěch Filip introduced the capabilities of MEGA Company, a prestigious Czech enterprise in the environmental and water treatment sector. The company's representatives presented advanced technological solutions for water treatment and reuse, highlighting ion exchange membrane technology and electrodialysis systems (ED/EDI) developed by the company. These technologies are highly effective in treating surface water, such as river water, to produce high-purity water for high-tech industries. Furthermore, they are designed with a flexible modular approach, aligning with the modern urban trend of decentralized water treatment infrastructure.

Additionally, MEGA Company expressed its interest in promoting long-term investment cooperation with Haiphong, coordinating with international financial institutions to implement environmental infrastructure projects, and supporting human resource training in water treatment technology.
Concluding the meeting, city leaders highly appreciated MEGA Company's membrane filtration technology and suggested that the company conduct further research to offer competitive costs for the Vietnamese market. The city reaffirmed its commitment to creating favorable conditions for the company to explore cooperation opportunities, connect with local partners, and conduct investment research in the locality.
