On the afternoon of February 19, 2023, the delegation of Yunnan Province led by Mr. Ly Than Duong, Director of Department of Commerce, along with leaders, experts and leading enterprises of Yunnan Province visited and worked with Hai Phong City. On behalf of the City People's Committee, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Director of Department of Industry and Trade Bui Quang Hai received the delegation and chaired the meeting; also attending were leaders of relevant units and enterprises.
At the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung expressed her pleasure to welcome the delegation of Yunnan Province to visit and work in Hai Phong within the visiting framework to Vietnamese localities along the economic corridor of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong – Quang Ninh, to understand about the city's infrastructure systems of transport, logistics and seaport, thereby promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and logistics, as well as connecting enterprises of two province and city.
At the meeting, Mr. Bui Quang Hai informed the delegation about the city’s socio-economic development in the past year, the import and export achievements between Hai Phong and China, as well as affirmed industry and logistics as key economic sectors of Hai Phong City. In fact, Hai Phong City is a locality with all 5 types of traffic and having a railway system connecting directly to seaports which are huge advantages for the strong development of Hai Phong logistics sector, contributing to the development of Hai Phong economy and trade. On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Ly Than Duong expressed his sincere thanks to leaders of Hai Phong departments, units and enterprises for their warm welcome. Yunnan has always determined the importance of promoting economic, trade and logistics cooperation with Hai Phong City. Therefore, this visiting and working time not only aim to promote economic and trade cooperation, but also continue to strengthen and develop cooperation among localities in the economic corridor and promote exchanges and cooperation among enterprises, especially logistics enterprises of two localities.
At the end of the meeting, two sides agreed to actively promote cooperation between two localities in various fields, especially trade and logistics.
