On the morning of August 10, at Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Culture Palace, the Executive Committee of Hai Phong Youth Union solemnly held the 14th Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Congress for the term of 2022 - 2027. The congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation along with Members of the Youth Union Central Committee’s steering group of the Provincial Youth Union Congress.
As for the city’s delegates, there were: Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong’s Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and the city former leaders, leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.
The 14th Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Congress for the term of 2022 - 2027 was an extensive political activity of youth union members, an important political event marking a new development step in promoting the role, potential, creativity and ability of the young generation in the development of Hai Phong City together with the Party Committee, Army and People .
In the period of 2022 - 2027, with the action slogan: "Hai Phong Youth: Pioneer, solidarity, creation for development", The City Youth identified the specific goals: “1) Building Hai Phong youth generation with comprehensive development, patriotism, revolutionary spirit, ambition, law observance, knowledge, good health, master of modern science and technology well aware of digital transformation; 2) building strong youth union organizations and authority for a modern, civilized and sustainable industrial Hai Phong ".
Affirming the Youth Union’s comprehensive achievement in the last term, Secretary Tran Luu Quang however pointed out its drawbacks in the management, propaganda and education in which some youth organizations’s performance lacked profundity and was away from the national cultural tradition. In the next term, Secretary of the City Party Committee requested that the City Youth Union strengthen the education of revolutionary spirit, morality, and cultural lifestyles for the young generation.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong also acknowledged the efforts of Hai Phong City’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union with comprehensive achievements in all aspects of activities. Thereby, he voiced his expection that the City Youth Union and the city's young generation in the next term would fulfill the set goals and propose more new models and measures for the national youth movement development.
At the congress, Mr. Tran Luu Quang awarded the congratulation silk banner to Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hai Phong City reading: "Having made excellent achievements in the youth union activities and the youth movement of Hai Phong City, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland”. Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded the Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in the term of 2017 - 2022.
The Congress had elected the Executive Committee of the 14th Youth Union for the term of 2022 - 2027, including 40 comrades. On behalf of the Executive Committee of the City Youth Union, Ms. Vuong Toan Thu Thuy, Secretary of the City Youth Union expressed her gratitude to the Congress for its trust and vote for the Executive Committee of the 14th Youth Union. The Executive Committee promised to promote the advantages and overcome the limitations; always have solidarity, responsibility, creativity and intellectual concentration to successfully complete the missions of the Youth Union, actively contributing to the construction and development of the City./.
