In preparation for this major spiritual and cultural event, the Hai Phong City People's Committee and the Festival Organizing Committee are actively accelerating tasks for the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival 2026. The festival is associated with the 692nd anniversary of the death of the The Third Patriarch of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism, Huyen Quang Ton Gia (1334 - 2026) and honors the values of the World Heritage site “Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscapes Complex”.

Diverse and Large-Scale Activities
The festival will officially take place from February 26 to March 11, 2026 (from the 10th to the 23rd day of the first lunar month) at the Con Son and Kiep Bac relic sites. The program includes numerous traditional rituals and rich festival activities, such as: solemn ceremonies; the Culture, Tourism, and Trade Promotion Week; and various sports and folk activities. By mid-February 2026, the assisting sub-committees have completed a significant amount of professional work.
Progress of Sub-Committees
- Propaganda: The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has implemented widespread promotion via mass media, social networks, and a QR code system at the relics. A press conference about the Festival is scheduled for February 25, 2026.
- Logistics and Protocol: VIP reception locations have been surveyed, and invitation designs and delegate badges have been finalized. The city has also expanded the area at Trung Nhac Templeto 250m² to serve crowded ceremonies.
- Trade Promotion: 24 enterprises and cooperatives have been selected to display over 100 food safety and VietGAP-certified products at booths designed after the architecture of Con Son Pagoda’s roof.
- Security and Health: The City Police have developed absolute protection plans for tourists and delegates. The Department of Health has arranged 24/7 emergency teams and strengthened food safety monitoring and disease prevention at the relic sites.
