On the morning of June 7, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, Mr. Le Khac Nam, welcomed a delegation from Yunnan Tongdian Air Travel Co., Ltd., led by General Director Hu Chaozhu, to discuss the launch of a direct flight route connecting Hai Phong (Vietnam) and Lijiang (China). The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant city departments and agencies.
Mr. Le Khac Nam emphasized that opening new international flight routes to and from Cat Bi International Airport is a strategic priority for Hai Phong. He highlighted the importance of the Hai Phong–Lijiang route in promoting economic development, trade, and tourism while strengthening mutual understanding between the two regions. The direct flight is expected to facilitate economic and commercial exchanges, especially in tourism, and meet the travel needs of residents and investors from both sides.
In preparation for the inaugural flight, scheduled for June 15, the Vice Chairman directed the Department of Foreign Affairs to work closely with Cat Bi International Airport, the Department of Tourism, and other relevant agencies to ensure all arrangements for the event are well-prepared, including logistics, ceremonial activities, and guest invitations. Additionally, he urged active collaboration with media outlets to promote the new route to the public, boosting tourism and ensuring the route’s long-term success.
General Director Mr.Hu Chaozhu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Hai Phong’s authorities. He emphasized that the new direct route will further enhance cooperation and exchanges between Hai Phong and Yunnan Province, particularly Lijiang City. On behalf of the delegation, he proposed support policies for the new route, joint efforts to organize the inaugural event, and strengthened tourism cooperation between Hai Phong and Yunnan to fully leverage the benefits of the Hai Phong–Lijiang connection.
