To create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the public to welcome the New Year, the Hai Phong City People's Committee has announced a plan to organize a fireworks display on the night of Lunar New Year's Eve 2026. According to the plan, the city will host fireworks at 12 locations across the city, including 05 high-altitude and 07 low-altitude spots.
A notable point this year is that the City Theater Square, the traditional fireworks location every year, will not host a fireworks display. The city has proactively adjusted the plan, distributing the display sites to various areas to better serve the residents and minimize traffic pressure on the old central district.
The high-altitude fireworks program, combined with low-altitude launchers, will take place at the following venues:
- North Cam River Administrative Center (Thuy Nguyen District): 500 high-altitude shells and 120 low-altitude launchers.
- Xu Dong Cultural Center Square (Le Thanh Nghi Ward): 500 high-altitude shells and 120 low-altitude launchers.
- Vinhomes Vu Yen Urban Area (Thuy Nguyen District): 300 high-altitude shells along with 200 shells and 60 low-altitude launchers.
- Hanh Phuc Lake (Kien An District): 200 high-altitude shells and 90 low-altitude launchers.
- Kien Hai Commune Stadium: 100 high-altitude shells and 60 low-altitude launchers.
In addition to the high-altitude sites, 07 other low-altitude display points are arranged in areas further from the center to serve residents in the outskirts and neighboring regions, including:
- Kien Thuy Commune Boat Racing Wharf.
- Cat Hai High School and Cat Ba Tourism Center (Cat Hai Special District).
- The Round House in the middle of the lake in An Duong Ward Park.
- Chan Hung Commune Stadium.
- Ha Bac Commune Stadium.
- Hop Tien Commune Stadium.
- The West Urban Area (Nam Sach Commune).
The fireworks program will occur simultaneously at the stroke of midnight, starting at 00:00 on February 17, 2026. The duration of each performance is expected to last from 10 to 15 minutes, promising to bring brilliant and eye-catching fireworks displays to the people of the Port City during the transition to the new year.
