Considering the National Target Program on new rural construction as a key political task, Tien Lang authority with its people had made great endeavour in implementing the Program. As a result, the District had so far enjoyed quite comprehensive development with a synchronous infrastructure system, 100% of the main roads and inter-village roads being concretized; 20 communes being recognized as new rural area; per capita income in 2020 reaching 51.5 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate being reduced to 0.39%. The people's material and spiritual life was raised thanks to the achievements in the fields of culture, education & training, health care, security and social order.
Regarding environmental criteria, Tien Lang District focused on keeping a green, clean and beautiful environment; solid waste and wastewater were collected and processed in accordance with regulations. Communes and local sociopolitical organizations had grown hundreds of flower routes as well as painted mural pictures in the communes.
Thanks to the above efforts, on August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh had signed Decision No. 982/QD-TTg recognizing Tien Lang District, Hai Phong City as new rural area in 2020.
Tien Lang District strives to become an exemplary new rural area by 2025 with the per capita income reaching 80 million VND/person/year; the employment rate of working age with regular jobs reaching over 90%; the rate of multidimensional poor households from 2020 onward being reduced to less than 1% and no more poor households by 2025.
