Hai Phong City hopes that Korean investors will continue to invest, build, and develop research and development facilities in the city.

That was the message shared by Mr. Le Anh Quan – Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of Hai Phong City at the “Vietnam-Korea Friendship Exchange Program 2025” held recently.
Mr. Le Anh Quan stated that among 40 countries and territories currently investing in Hai Phong, Korea ranks second in the number of projects (185) and first in terms of investment capital, with a total of 14.1 billion USD. Korean enterprises have made significant contributions to the city’s economic and social development by applying modern technologies, promoting technology transfer, creating jobs, increasing budget revenues, and engaging in social security activities, such as supporting Korean language teaching in some schools in the city.
In addition, non-governmental aid activities and cooperation in the fields of culture, education, healthcare, science and technology, and local cooperation between Hai Phong and Korean partners have been strongly implemented. Cultural exchange activities and events are regularly and continuously organized, helping to promote mutual understanding and friendly relations.
According to Mr. Le Anh Quan, Hai Phong City hopes to continue receiving attention from the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the effective cooperation of Korean enterprises and investors. The city also hopes that major and reputable Korean corporations will continue to invest, build, and develop research and development facilities in Hai Phong in key areas of the city’s interest, such as innovation, green economy, digital economy, circular economy, and renewable energy.
Vietnam and Korea have a long-standing cooperative and friendly relationship, now at its highest level as a comprehensive strategic partnership. Hai Phong City has many potentials, advantages, and opportunities for Korean partners to explore, cooperate, and invest. The culture and people of the two countries share many similarities. Therefore, friendly cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Korea in general, and between Hai Phong and Korea in particular, will continue to achieve many successes in the future.
Mr. Chang Ho-Seung – Minister Counselor, Deputy Ambassador, and Consul General of Korea in Vietnam, shared that in the context of the comprehensive strategic partnership, both countries emphasize the importance of Hai Phong – a city that hosts many Korean businesses and residents. One of the leading Korean corporations investing in Hai Phong is LG Group. Alongside LG, many Korean businesses have invested in the city, establishing cooperative relationships with Vietnamese enterprises and actively participating in corporate social responsibility activities.
Mr. Chang Ho-Seung also highlighted that Hai Phong is a model investment environment for Korean enterprises. This achievement is thanks to the support of Hai Phong city leaders and relevant agencies and units.
Korea is a pioneer in high-tech industrial investment and production in Hai Phong. As such, Korean investors have been and will continue to be important partners for the city. Hai Phong has implemented various investment promotion methods and offered special incentives, aiming to attract more high-quality investment waves from Korea in the future.

Mr. Le Trung Kien – Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA), said that to attract foreign investors in general and Korean investors in particular, beyond its transport and seaport advantages, Hai Phong is committed to creating the best possible conditions for investors. At the same time, the city is pushing administrative reform, shortening investment procedure times, and improving the quality of investment promotion. Notably, Hai Phong continuously adopts new and effective investment promotion approaches to “woo” more potential Korean investors.
Meanwhile, Mr. Park Byung Hoon – Secretary General of the Korean Association for Energy Management Systems, commented that Hai Phong is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing cities in Vietnam. With a favorable and open investment environment and its geographic, industrial park, and infrastructure advantages, Hai Phong still has plenty of room for Korean businesses to invest in various sectors, especially smart city development. After working with Hai Phong People’s Committee, the association will enhance promotional activities, encouraging capable, reputable, and technologically advanced Korean enterprises to invest in areas aligned with Hai Phong’s sustainable development strategies. This will help accelerate progress and improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides.
