In an effort to promote the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and to celebrate a historic milestone for the country's press, Hai Phong City has issued a plan to coordinate with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize a series of key activities. This is considered a national cultural-political event and an opportunity to honor the mission of revolutionary journalists in the new era.

Diverse and Large-Scale Activities
According to the plan, the series of activities is scheduled to take place from June 19, 2026, to June 21, 2026, at the City Convention and Performance Center. The event is expected to attract approximately 1,000 delegates from various levels of the Journalists Association, press training institutions, international organizations, and 19 delegates from press agencies in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
The centerpiece of the event is the National Press Festival 2026, themed: “Vietnam’s Press – Loyalty, Creativity, Responsibility in the New Era”. With nearly 90 display booths, the festival will provide a panoramic view of the 101-year achievements of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press while showcasing modern technological applications and digital press trends. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on national channels such as VTV and VOV to spread the vibrant atmosphere to audiences nationwide.
Additionally, the 20th National Press Award (for the year 2025) will be solemnly held on the evening of June 21, 2026, at the Hoa Phuong Theater to honor the most outstanding works across various types of journalism. Simultaneously, the National Press Forum 2026, featuring 11 discussion sessions, will serve as a platform for experts and managers to discuss press development strategies following the 14th Party Congress, focusing on innovating operational models and professional ethics.
Another special highlight is the Final of the "Journalists' Singing Contest (Expanded) - 2026". The competition includes contestants from press agencies across the country and regional neighbors like Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. This activity not only strengthens solidarity within the press community but also promotes cultural diplomacy through auxiliary tour programs for international press delegations.
Methodical and Decisive Coordination
To ensure the success of the event series, on June 11, 2026, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hai Phong City Party Committee invited representatives from various departments and branches to a meeting to implement the execution plan. Close coordination between Hai Phong and the Vietnam Journalists Association is reflected in the assignment of specific tasks to each department. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is responsible for visual decorations on main roads and presiding over a display booth imbued with local identity themed "Hai Phong: Convergence and Radiance". The Department of Foreign Affairs will coordinate the management and guidance of international press delegations operating in the locality.
Logistics, security, and healthcare are also given special attention. The City Police are developing a plan to ensure absolute safety for Party and State leaders and attending delegates. The Department of Health will ensure food safety and arrange emergency forces. Notably, the Hai Phong Electricity Company and the Department of Science and Technology will guarantee a stable power supply and broadband internet for live broadcasts.
Significance for the Port City
Beyond professional journalistic activities, this event series is an occasion for Hai Phong to pay tribute to revolutionary predecessors. A solemn incense offering ceremony in memory of Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh—the first Secretary of the City Party Committee—will be held on the morning of June 19.
The coordination to organize these activities demonstrates Hai Phong's proactiveness in bringing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress into practice. Through the companionship of the national media, the image of an innovative, dynamic, and hospitable Hai Phong will be conveyed more strongly than ever. The city is committed to ensuring the best conditions for this journalists' festival to become a brilliant milestone in the Port City's new development space.
