At the meeting between Vietnam Bank for Social Policies and Hai Phong Party Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Party Committee Tran Luu Quang made a commitment that Hai Phong would be more proactive in provide additional capital from local budget for Social Policy Bank to support more poor households and those under preferential treatment in the city.
Accordingly, in the 2014 – 2022 period, the city’s budget entrusted to the Social Policy Bank for local lending capital supplement in the city had increased by 261.781 billion dong, in which the city’s Social Policy Bank had disbursed preferential credit policy capital for 245,535 poor households and prioritized objects to develop manufacturing and business.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Luu Quang affirmed the preferential credit policy as an important factor in Hai Phong’s rapid and sustainable poverty reduction to be among three and ten localities with the lowest proportion of poor households in the Red River Delta region and nationwide respectively.
The City People’s Committee had issued specific guidelines and orders to People’s Committees under authority for more effective collaboration among state agencies and Social Policy Bank in social policy credit activities in the area, in which it was of local priority to allocate state budget to poor households’ and those under preferential treatment loan.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee also committed to increase loans for jobs program, clean water and rural environment hygiene program./.
