Hai Phong Port welcomes first cargo of the new year 2025

At 0:00 on January 1, Hai Phong Port, along with representatives of shipping lines, officers, crew members of cargo ships and guests witnessed the ceremony to welcome the first cargo of the year.

In the first moments of the new year 2025, at 3 ports of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, including: Tan Vu Port Branch; Chua Ve Port Branch and Hoang Dieu Port One Member Co., Ltd., the ceremony to welcome the first shipment of 2025 simultaneously took place.

This event is held by Hai Phong Port at the exact moment of the transition between the old and new year every year to summarize the achievements of the past year and create momentum for a new production year.

At Tan Vu Port Branch, the first cargo code of the new year 2025 was unloaded from CMA CGM Visby. In 2025, Tan Vu Port Branch sets a target of striving for an output of 21.5 million tons.

Speaking at the Welcome Ceremony, the representative of Hai Phong Port acknowledged and praised the efforts and determination of the staff of Tan Vu Port Branch, and shared the hardships of the staff of the branch when facing objective difficulties and challenges while the workload is increasing and the requirements of customers are getting higher and higher.

However, with a young, dynamic leadership team and experienced, enthusiastic staff, with the support and facilitation of local State management agencies and the support and commitment of customers, Tan Vu Port once again affirms its capacity and will to overcome all challenges and is an essential part of Hai Phong Port.

In 2024, Tan Vu Port Branch achieved impressive results. The branch team successfully completed many important goals, notably maintaining the port's cargo throughput at 1 million TEUs, and this is the 4th consecutive time Tan Vu Port has achieved this record.

These contributions not only affirm the prestige and position of Tan Vu Port but also contribute significantly to the overall development of Hai Phong Port. The total cargo throughput of Hai Phong Port has achieved stable growth, about 40 million tons, of which container cargo reached approximately 2 million TEUs, with revenue reaching 2,900 billion VND. Hai Phong Port continues to maintain its position as the largest seaport in the northern region of Vietnam.

Entering 2025, Tan Vu Port will continue to achieve many important goals such as: Output of 21.5 million tons; 1,150,000 TEU; Revenue: 1,335 billion VND; Profit: 652 billion; Continue to invest, digitally transform and streamline processes and procedures. At the same time, Hang Dieu Port and Chua Ve Port will simultaneously organize the Ceremony to welcome the top code of 2025.

In 2024, Hai Phong Port achieved many outstanding achievements in production and business. The total volume of goods passing through the port achieved stable growth, about 40 million tons, of which container cargo reached approximately 2 million TEUs, with revenue reaching 2,910 billion VND. In addition to the successes in port operation and exploitation, 2024 also marked a major development step for Hai Phong Port with the completion of the establishment of two important joint ventures with SITC - Asia's leading shipping line, and with TIL, part of MSC Group - the world's largest container shipping line.

According to Mr. Tuong Anh: These joint ventures, when officially put into operation in the first quarter of 2025, will open up strategic cooperation opportunities for Hai Phong Port, while also bringing the expectation of creating a modern seaport service ecosystem, contributing to improving the competitiveness of Hai Phong seaport and Vietnam in the international arena.
