The first ship on AA9 maritime service route
Upon the upcoming Lunar New Year 2022, on January 30, 2022 ( December 28 Lunar Calendar), Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) welcomed WAN HAI 315 ship, the first ship of AA9 maritime service route operated by Wan Hai shipping company at TC-HICT. This route is served by 8 ships with capacity from 2,500 to 2,800 TEU containers, directly connecting Hai Phong with the East coast of the United States on the route: TC-HICT – Shekou – Kaohsiung – Qingdao - Balboa –– Charleston – New York – Singapore – TC-HICT.
WANHAI Lines is the leading shipping company in Asia, ranked 10th in the world, currently operating 147 container ships with total capacity of 419,559 TEU containers. The opening of an additional AA9 maritime service route by Wan Hai shipping company connecting Hai Phong seaports with the East coast of the United States will help increase the frequency of mother ships arriving at TC-HICT weekly, thereby providing more options for importers and exporters in the North of Vietnam, optimally connecting goods to the largest export market of Vietnam in the East and West coasts of the United States. As for TC-HITC, this meaningful event taking place right ahead of Lunar New Year 2022 contributed to TC-HICT’s strong development, promoting chances to welcome more trans-oceanic service routes in 2022, well proving its stance as the largest and most modern deep-water port in the North with important contribution to economic development of Northern region in particular and Vietnam in general.
