On April 18, Mr. Le Tien Chau welcomed the delegation from Nanning City, led by Mr. Nong Sheng Wen, a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanning Party Committee. Mr. Chau shared that Chinese investors and companies are some of Hai Phong's most important partners, with nearly 400 projects and over 6 billion USD in total investment. He expressed hope that both sides would continue strengthening their cooperation in areas such as investment promotion, infrastructure, port development, culture, education, and tourism.
Mr. Nong Sheng Wen also emphasized a desire to further develop infrastructure, logistics, industrial production chains, and trade-tourism. He also proposed increasing exchanges in culture, education, youth, and tourism.
During the visit, the Ngô Quyền District Party Committee and the Thanh Tú District Party Committee from Nanning signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster a friendly relationship. Additionally, the Sao Đỏ Investment Group and Nanning Traffic Investment Group signed agreements to strengthen cooperation between the Bình Lục Canal (Nanning Port) and Nam Đình Vũ Port (Hai Phong), focusing on logistics and supply chains.
On the afternoon of April 17, Mr. Le Tien Chau also welcomed the delegation from the China Special Economic Zone Research Center, led by Ms. Dao Yi Dao, the Center’s Director. The discussion centered on Hai Phong's plans to develop an ecological economic zone linked to a circular economy in the southern part of the city, covering 20,000 hectares. Mr. Chau requested that the delegation share their experiences in the development and management of special economic zones, particularly in infrastructure and industry. Ms. Dao Yi Dao expressed her interest in strengthening cooperation, particularly in areas such as infrastructure investment, supporting industries, tourism, services, and human resource training.
