Hai Phong Cooperates to Organize International Training Workshop on Child Protection and Care

In an effort to enhance the capacity of staff working in child care to meet requirements in the new situation, Hai Phong City actively cooperated with the Ministry of Health to organize an intensive training workshop on child protection and care in March 2026. This event marked the smooth and effective coordination among the port city's departments and agencies in implementing international commitments and core political tasks.

The training workshop took place from March 18 to March 20, 2026, in Hai Phong, under the framework of the "For the survival, development of children and environment" project, funded by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the 2022-2026 period. This was one of two critical training sessions aimed at providing professional development for approximately 40 delegates who are child care officers from 17 Northern provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Dien Bien, Nghe An, and neighboring localities.

To ensure the event was held safely, professionally, and in accordance with regulations, the Hai Phong City People's Committee directed the synchronous involvement of several key units:

  • Department of Foreign Affairs: Acted as the focal point, receiving information about the venue to coordinate the management of foreign elements and ensuring strict compliance with regulations on organizing international conferences and workshops in Vietnam.
  • Department of Health and City Police: Collaborated closely on professional management and maintaining security and order for the delegations throughout their stay in the city.
  • Office of the City People's Committee: Monitored, urged, and advised city leaders to promptly resolve any issues arising during the preparation process.

The event took place in a special context as the state management function for children was transferred to the Ministry of Health on March 1, 2025. Hai Phong's active cooperation in organizing this workshop not only helps perfect support policies for children with disabilities for the 2026-2030 period but also affirms the city's effective contribution to implementing the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1183/QD-TTg.

The effective coordination among Hai Phong's units has built trust with international organizations like UNICEF, showcasing the city as a safe, responsible destination capable of organizing important foreign affairs events, thereby contributing to building a sustainable inclusive environment for Vietnamese children.
