In the determined "kick-off" spirit of the New Year and as part of preparations for major political events, on February 23, 2026, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau led a working delegation to conduct a field inspection of the implementation of key projects at the Con Son – Kiep Bac historical-cultural relic site.

Close Coordination Between Departments, Sectors, and Localities
The delegation included key city leaders and various departments, including the Department of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Construction, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Health, Education and Training, City Police, and the City Military Command. The presence of the Department of Foreign Affairs alongside specialized units during this visit demonstrates cohesion in state management and aims to prepare for promoting the values of this world cultural heritage to international friends.
Drastic Directives on Heritage Preservation and Value Promotion
After an incense offering ritual to commemorate the World Cultural Figure Nguyen Trai, the delegation directly inspected the Con Son Stream Restoration project (with a total investment exceeding 45 billion VND) and the project for Preserving the Con Son – Kiep Bac historical-cultural relic site associated with tourism development.
Acknowledging the efforts of Tran Hung Dao Ward and the contractors, the Chairman issued specific instructions to ensure the projects are worthy of a special national relic site:
- Regarding the stream restoration project: Construction units are requested to study options for preserving the original state using natural pebbles, shielding pipelines, and reducing noise at water discharge points to maintain a serene atmosphere.
- Regarding nature conservation: The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to coordinate the numbering of each large pine tree to strictly manage and protect the centuries-old pine forest.
- Regarding culture and tourism management: The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is tasked with developing elaborate and meticulous explanations for the tourist sites before August 30, 2026. The Chairman emphasized the requirement to prevent vending inside the Temples and Pagodas and called for a study on relocating approximately 10 households out of the Con Son Pagoda area.
Kick-off Spirit and Political Significance
This inspection took place as the entire city is focusing on preparations for the elections of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels. Accelerating the progress of historical-cultural projects not only contributes to the development of spiritual tourism but also fosters trust and excitement among the people ahead of the nation’s major celebration.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee required contractors to focus on mobilizing maximum machinery and manpower and to build a detailed progress schedule to ensure projects are completed on time, soon opening the relic site to serve pilgrims and tourists.
