Hai Phong Association in Russia: Practical Activities for the Homeland

On the evening of January 19, the Hai Phong Association in Russia, in collaboration with friends who value Vietnam–Russia relations, organized a program titled "Spring of National Unity Rising in the New Era", fostering a warm and united atmosphere toward the homeland in celebration of the Lunar New Year. The event was attended by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Bích Dung, Director of the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs, along with representatives from relevant agencies and organizations.

The Hai Phong Association in Russia was founded in response to the genuine aspirations of the large overseas Vietnamese community from Hai Phong—including students, workers, and professionals—who are living, studying, and working in Russia. Since its inception, the Association has continuously strengthened its organizational structure, actively expanded its membership, and attracted broad participation from fellow citizens.

Over the years, the Association has contributed both dedication and intellect, encouraging the Vietnamese community to engage in meaningful activities in support of the homeland, especially efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and protect maritime and island territories. At the same time, the Association focuses on enriching the cultural and spiritual lives of its members, while recognizing and encouraging outstanding individuals, particularly students with excellent academic achievements.

The Association maintains close coordination with the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs and the Hai Phong Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, ensuring that members stay updated on the city's policies and activities, and have access to Vietnamese language materials, poetry, and cultural publications about Hai Phong.

In addition to cultural and community engagement, the Hai Phong Association in Russia actively participates in charitable and humanitarian activities, offering support to Hai Phong residents, families under social policy, orphans, and elderly individuals in social welfare centers in Hai Phong. The Association also contributes to community welfare and participates in international humanitarian initiatives in Russia.

In the joyful spirit of welcoming the Year of the Snake 2025, members and supporters of the Association gathered to present fresh floral tributes, enjoy performances rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, and share heartfelt sentiments—expressing their deep and enduring love for their homeland.
