Hai Phong Approves Clean Water Project for 91 Disadvantaged Households in Tran Lieu Ward

To improve living conditions and community health, on February 10, 2026, the Hai Phong City People's Committee officially issued Decision No. 576/QĐ-UBND approving the aid project “Supporting the installation of domestic water supply systems for disadvantaged households in Tran Lieu Ward”. The project is sponsored by Good People International (GPI), a South Korean organization, to realize social security goals within the city.

Improving Lives with Standardized Clean Water The project has a total value of 973,700,000 VND(approximately 38,712 USD), funded entirely by non-refundable aid from GPI. The core objective is to provide direct support to 91 households in particularly difficult circumstances, including poor and near-poor households, single-parent families, and lonely elderly people struggling to access a stable supply of clean water.

Each benefiting household will receive a synchronized domestic water supply system, including: A 1054 Composite filter column set; A Tan A stainless steel tank and a specialized pump; Installation labor and accompanying accessories.

Implementation Timeline and Method The project is scheduled to be implemented and completed within 03 months from the approval date. The Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations has been assigned as the project owner, responsible for close coordination with the donor, GPI, during implementation. As required, all equipment and materials must be 100% new, purchased in Vietnam, and directly managed by the donor for both procurement and construction.

This activity not only helps residents access water that meets hygiene standards—reducing disease risks—but also demonstrates the humanitarian spirit and effective cooperation between the people of Vietnam and South Korea.

Ensuring Transparency and Security City leaders have requested the Union of Friendship Organizations to work closely with the Tran Lieu Ward People’s Committee to carefully review lists, ensuring aid reaches the correct recipients. During implementation, specialized agencies such as the Department of Finance, Department of Foreign Affairs, and the City Police will perform functional supervision to ensure the project strictly complies with regulations on non-refundable aid management and state secret protection.

Since 2022, GPI has coordinated the implementation of 07 aid grants in the city, contributing significantly to improving clean water and sanitation infrastructure for the community. This latest project in Tran Lieu Ward further affirms the city’s commitment to mobilizing international resources for sustainable development.
