During a business trip to Japan on September 10, 2024, a delegation from Hai Phong city, led by Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, held a working session with Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture. The Kanagawa side was represented by Mr. Shinohara Norikazu, Director General of the Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; Mr. Wakisaka Michihiro, Executive Director of Global Strategy, Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; and other relevant agencies.

Overview of the Meeting
During the session, Governor Kuroiwa delivered a speech in Vietnamese, showcasing his hospitality and appreciation for the friendship between Vietnam and Japan. In recent years, the number of Vietnamese living and working in Kanagawa has steadily increased, making Vietnam the second-largest foreign community in the prefecture, with over 34,000 residents among more than 170 nationalities. Additionally, Kanagawa hosts the most frequent Vietnam Festivals in Japan, held annually since 2015, except for two years disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong expressed his gratitude and honor on behalf of the delegation for the warm reception and opportunity to work in Kanagawa. He emphasized that this visit was a valuable opportunity for both sides to explore and expand cooperation in the future.
At the headquarters of the Kanagawa Prefectural Government, the delegation also met with representatives of Yokohama Port. Known as one of the largest seaports in Japan, Yokohama Port plays a crucial role in international trade and Japan's economic development. The port provides services for dedicated shipping lines, logistics terminals, and cruise ship berths. Notably, Yokohama Port is pioneering green port initiatives, such as carbon reduction, fuel cell-powered cargo handling equipment, and partnerships with Japanese enterprises like TEPCO Power Grid and Ocean Power Grid to transport environmentally friendly electricity.
The Hai Phong delegation's visit to Kanagawa has opened up new opportunities for collaboration, strengthened ties between Hai Phong and Japanese partners, and marked a new milestone in the friendship between the two localities.

The delegation posed for a commemorative photo with Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture.
