(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Chairman of the City People's Committee has just approved the proposal of the Department of Transport on planting vines on bridge piers and pillars in the inner city to ensure the urban beauty.
There are currently overpasses at intersections in the inner city such as Lach Tray, Phu Xa, Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Dong Hai, Hai Phong Private University, An Tri, Nam Cau Binh, Quan Toan, Trai Le…; and river-overpasses including Rao bridge, Vo Nguyen Giap bridge, Niem bridge, An Duong bridge, An Dong bridge, Bui Vien bridge, Lam Khe bridge, Lac Long bridge, Thuong Ly bridge... in 4 districts: Hong Bang , Le Chan, Ngo Quyen and Hai An.
According to the Department of Transport, most of the bridges were constructed with abutments, reinforced concrete pillars and have been put into operation for a long time, which has caused a lot of dirt, stain, and uneven surfaces leading to the loss of the urban beauty. Therefore, the Department of Transport proposed to green the bridges by decorating trees, planting flowers at the areas of bridge abutments and pillars, at the same time, regularly maintaining bridges together with caring green trees as regulated to contribute to ensuring the urban beauty.
