The Vietnamese Government will focus on promoting the building of a national database, sharing and linking data to support businesses’ development, and developing digital infrastructure as part of measures to boost digital transformation, according to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
Priority will be given to the development of data relating to population, land, and healthcare, he said while addressing the Vietnam - Asia DX Summit 2023 in Hanoi on May 24 with the theme “Driving economic growth enabled by digital data mining and smart connectivity”.
The government will create a synchronous legal environment to offer support to businesses and individuals to lay a central role in digital transformation and socio-economic development, he said.
Focus will also be given to planning and developing the digital infrastructure needed to meet booming demand in data and connections while ensuring cyber safety and security, Mr. Ha added.
He stressed that Vietnam’s digital transformation is taking place strongly and producing practical results. This is a “gold mine”, and an endless resource from thinking, creativity, and wisdom that the world has been exploiting. This is also a new and green resource, helping to recover natural resources and promote economic development.
Within the framework of the two-day Summit are five sessions on digital data infrastructure and information security. Other sessions include digital transformation in Vietnam and Asia, sharing digital government and administration development data, digital transformation in finance, and Vietnam - Asia cooperation in the IT sector.
An exhibition on the digital solution platform and the connection of supply and demand for the digital transformation of domestic IT enterprises will also take place on the sidelines of the Summit.
