On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, on the morning of August 23, the City Department of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Korean Association in Hai Phong City visited and present gifts to households with low living standards in Tien Lang District. The delegation was accompanied by leaders and members of Tien Lang District Red Cross Society.
The gift-giving program aims to connect benefactors and sponsors to families struggling in the city. On this occasion, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs also expressed her deep gratitude to Korean Association for sharing and helping families and individuals in extremely difficult situations in the city. Over the past time, Korean Association in Hai Phong has actively mobilized the Korean community living and working in the city to donate money and in kind prizes to support and help vulnerable people, especially the elderly and children. Since 2017, Department of Foreign Affairs along with Korean Association in Hai Phong has supported 299 families in the city’s districts with the total value of 479,500,000 VND.
In this program, the delegation had visited and presented each 20 households in 05 communes of Tien Lang District: Kien Thiet, Cap Tien, Doan Lap, Bach Dang and Tien Thanh with 1,000,000 VND and in kind gift .
The delegation had cosy talk with households, wishing them to overcome difficulties and diseases and also encouraging their children and grandchildren to make efforts to study and work; celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival joyfully and warmly with family complying with guidelines, policies, and laws of the State. The delegation also request local authorities’ further attention and collaboration for futuremeaningful and practical activities, contributing to sharing the burden for families in difficult situations in the city.
