On the morning of November 08, Chairman of Hai Phong City’s People Committee Nguyen Van Tung had a courtesy meeting with H.E. Mr. Kees van Baar, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Netherlands in Viet Nam, who led the delegation to pay courtesy call and to discuss exchange activities to boost up partnership and strengthen cooperation between Hai Phong City and Dutch partners and localities. Attending the meeting were the representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
Warm greetings to the Delegation to have a visit and work in Hai Phong, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung informed the delegates potentials and outstanding results in socio-economic development of Hai Phong City, which is currently leading in the country in terms of economic growth, foreign investment attraction, and administrative reform data.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that the fruitful results of economic cooperation between Hai Phong and the Netherlands have been achieved, however, it is still not equivalent to cooperation potentials between the both sides, particularly when the Netherlands is a country with strengths in logistics, ports sector, supply chain management, water and irrigation management, etc. 2023 will be the year to celebrate 50 years of establishment of bilateral relationship between Viet Nam and the Netherlands, the Chairman would like H.E. Mr. Kees van Baar, with his bridging role to promote cooperation relations between the two sides.
Thanks to the warm welcome of Hai Phong City’s authority, Ambassador Kees van Barr expressed his impression on the achievements gained by Hai Phong. After the actual survey, the Delegation found out that Hai Phong has a lot of potential for cooperation with Dutch partners, enterprises, and localities, especially seaports, logistics services, etc. After the meeting, the delegation will enhance information provision on outstanding achievements of Hai Phong to Dutch people and enterprises; as well as would like Hai Phong City to continue to create favorable conditions for strengthening cooperation between the both sides./.
