On the morning of November 30, the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations, the City Youth Union, and the Vietnam–Laos Friendship Association organized a friendship exchange to celebrate Laos National Day (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2024). The event brought together Lao international students, Vietnamese students, and representatives of former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who served in Laos.
The program was attended by representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong, the City Party Committee’s Propaganda Department, the Hai Phong Veterans Association, the Vietnam–Laos Friendship Association, local departments and agencies, and 70 Lao and Vietnamese students studying at universities in Hai Phong.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Mr. Do Van Binh, Chairman of the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations, extended congratulations to Lao international students studying at universities and colleges in the city on the occasion of Laos National Day.
He emphasized the strong relationship between Hai Phong and various localities in Laos, particularly its established friendship ties with Vientiane and Oudomxay provinces. Currently, 235 Lao students are studying and conducting research at universities in Hai Phong. On behalf of the leadership of the Union of Friendship Organizations, he encouraged Lao students to remain united, strive in their studies and training, and acquire the knowledge necessary to contribute to Laos’ development upon their return. He also called for preserving and fostering the strong friendship cultivated by generations of leaders and citizens from both nations.

The event featured cultural performances by Lao students showcasing traditional music and dance from Vietnam and Laos. Participants also engaged in an interactive quiz competition that explored the history, culture, and traditions of both countries, creating a fun and educational experience.
