On April 16 and 17, Freestyle Wrestling - Traditional Wrestling Championship - Hai Phong Newspaper Cup 2022 was organized successfully by Hai Phong Newspaper in collaboration with Department of Culture and Sports and Kien Thuy District People's Committee with the participation of nearly 140 athletes from 10 delegations in 19 competitions in which there were 7 men's freestyle wrestling competitions, 7 tournaments for women's freestyle wrestling and 5 others for traditional wrestling competitors.
Within the framework of the 9th City Gymnastics and Sports Championship, Freestyle Wrestling - Traditional Wrestling Championship - Hai Phong Newspaper Cup 2022 is a practical activity to encourage wrestling movement throughout the City. Besides, this is also a good opportunity for the city's sports sector to find out talented athletes.
The championship ended with the first prize awarded to the home delegation of Kien Thuy District; Vinh Bao District delegation ranked the second place ahead of Tien Lang District delegation.
After the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee handed over the hosting flag to Tien Lang District’s representative to be the next championship organizer.
