Final Round of the 11th English Championship “International Connection” Crowns Two Champions

On the morning of April 6, at the City Convention Center, the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Education and Training, the City Labor Federation, and the City Youth Union, organized the Final Round of the 11th English Championship Competition under the theme “International Connection.”

The competition attracted over 1,000 online registrations. After multiple rounds, the Organizing Committee selected the 10 most outstanding contestants for the Final Round, dividing them into two groups to compete for the title of 11th English Champion.

Group 1 included students from general education schools. Contestants competed in themed speech delivery, direct Q&A with the judging panel, and a quick-thinking challenge. Group 2 was open to contestants from across the city, including university students, specialized English students, learners from foreign language centers, civil servants, public employees, workers, and English enthusiasts. In this group, contestants were required to give a presentation on a selected topic, engage in debates with other contestants, respond to questions from the judging panel, and demonstrate quick reflexes in the quick-thinking challenge.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded two championship titles to the top contestants in each group, along with two first runner-up prizes, two second runner-up prizes, and four consolation prizes.

The competition was a meaningful activity to promote the English learning movement, create a forum for exchange and learning, and connect the younger generation with friendship activities and the local business community. It contributed to improving the quality of human resources in the city amid deep international integration.
