Export turnover to hit USD 500 billion

As reported by the General Department of Customs, the export turnover this year is ready to hit the threshold of USD 500 billion regardless the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, the cargo import-export activities are giving positive signals. Specifically, the export value in November reached more than USD 25 billion while the import value hit USD 24.7 billion. From January to November, the total export turnover of the country fetched approximately USD 255 billion, up 5.5% year-on-year. The aggregate import-export turnover of Vietnam in the previous 11 months is nearly USD 490 billion. Remarkably, the trade deficit outcome remains at the record of around USD 20 billion. It is likely that the import-export turnover scale of 2020 may reach USD 540 billion, which is USD 23 billon higher than 2019, an encouraging result in the context the year of 2020 has been badly affected by the pandemic./.
