Exhibition on “Sea, islands, and navalofficers – Tradition of Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea” on 13-19/10

(Haiphong.gov.vn) –On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea (23/10/1961-23/10/2021), on the morning of October 13, at Hai Phong Museum, the Navy High Command’s Department of Navy Politics cooperated with Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports organize the Opening Ceremony of Exhibition “Sea, islands, and naval officers – Tradition of Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea”. The event was attended by Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen - Vice Chairman of Navy Politics Department and representatives of related Departments, agencies, and units.

The exhibition takes place from 13/10 to the end of 19/10/2021, displaying in a 90m2 room 180 documentary photos, 35 historical documentaries and items, 02 maps (the Ho Chi Minh Trail sea, and Vietnam’s sea area), 10 statistic documents and rewards, etc...

The exhibition has 3 parts: Part 1 - Heroic Tradition of the Vietnam People's Navy in the Resistance War against the US for National Salvation(1955 - 1975), with photos, documentaries, and items giving brief introduction to 08 outstanding victories of the Vietnam People’s Navy; Part 2 – Opening the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea, transporting weapons to support the Southern battlefield (1962 - 1975), displaying photos, documentaries, and items reflecting the process of establishment, operation and achievements of naval soldiers crew steering the legendary No serial number ships in transporting weapons to the Southern battlefield; the handingover activities and the intertwined relationship between people and soldiers at different ferry stops; Part 3 - Building revolutionary, elite and modern VietnamPeople's Navy to firmly protect the country's sovereignty over sea and islands, with photos, documentaries and items revealing remarkable activities and achievements of the Vietnam People’s Navy in operating duties of protecting the sea and islands of the country’s sovereignty.

The exhibition is to educate, disseminate information to generations, particularly the youth, on the heroic tradition, achievements, and victories of the Vietnam People’s Navy during the liberation war, in which the strategic military route Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea made a crucial contribution. This event, therefore, arouses national pride, love to the sea, islands, and the motherland; upholdes revolutionary tradition of the Army, the Navy, and noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers – Navy soldiers” as well as their successes as the core factor in the national sovereignty over seas and islands defense.
