Enhancing Cultural Exchange Among the Youth

Hai Phong recognizes the significant role of cultural diplomacy in fostering international cooperation, enhancing the city’s global image, and contributing to its socio-economic development. As part of this initiative, the city has focused on promoting cultural exchanges, particularly targeting the younger generation, including students.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has spearheaded numerous activities to foster cultural diplomacy within the youth sector. These include organizing a Vietnam-Japan student summer camp, selecting students from Tran Phu High School to attend the "Japanese Language Forum" in Japan, coordinating exchanges with Korean art groups for students, and donating Japanese books to local schools. The department has also facilitated the arrival of students from Vientiane and Udomxay (Laos) to study Vietnamese in Hai Phong universities, arranged educational exchange programs between schools, and welcomed Korean language teachers to the city's institutions. These initiatives create valuable opportunities for students to interact, gain new knowledge, and improve their language and communication skills.

By strengthening cultural exchange programs among the youth, especially in educational settings, Hai Phong aims to foster a deeper understanding of cultural values. These programs emphasize empathy, respect, and mutual understanding, helping students expand their knowledge and appreciate the beauty of other cultures. Furthermore, these efforts contribute to building stronger relationships between Hai Phong’s young people and their international peers while encouraging the study of foreign languages in schools across the city.
