English – Vietnam–Japan Cooperation: Bringing Modern Technology to Preserve Vietnamese Agricultural Products

Hai Phong Port Services Joint Stock Company and Japan’s Minaminihon Total Logistics Service (MTLS) Group have just introduced DENBA technology, a breakthrough solution in agricultural product preservation.

Agriculture is a key pillar of Vietnam’s economy, but post-harvest preservation remains a major challenge. Traditional methods such as refrigeration or chemical treatment do not meet international standards, especially for perishable goods. The current cold storage systems are limited, affecting both quality and shelf life of produce.

Aware of this situation, Hai Phong Port Services JSC has partnered with MTLS to implement DENBA technology in Vietnam. This advanced technology promises to optimize preservation processes, reduce losses, and enhance the value and competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.

At the event, representatives from MTLS and Hai Phong Port Services introduced DENBA — an advanced solution using electromagnetic waves to prolong the preservation time of agricultural products without compromising quality. From March 2025, this technology will be piloted in the cold storage facilities of Hai Phong Port Services, with plans for full deployment by Q1 2026.

Mr. Le Hong Cam, Director of Hai Phong Port Services JSC, affirmed: “Applying DENBA technology will provide a breakthrough in improving the quality of Vietnamese agricultural preservation, extend shelf life, raise commercial value, and open up export opportunities, especially to high-standard markets. It also demonstrates the efforts of Hai Phong Port Services and the Hai Phong logistics industry to strengthen international cooperation in science and technology.”

On the MTLS side, Mr. Keiichiro Ozono, President of the Group, shared: “We recognize the tremendous growth potential of the Vietnamese market. With advanced technology and extensive experience, MTLS is committed to a long-term partnership, supporting Vietnamese partners in technological innovation, product quality enhancement, and global market expansion.”

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Hai Phong Port Services and MTLS, marking the start of the DENBA technology pilot and implementation in Vietnam. Attendees were also given a tour of the trial zone at Hai Phong Port Services.

Hai Phong Port Services JSC, a member of the Red Star Group, specializes in warehousing and logistics, with domestic and bonded cold storage, container yards, and an international-standard automotive technical service center.

MTLS Group is one of Japan’s leading cold-food logistics companies, with over 50 years of experience and a 30% market share in Tokyo. This partnership with MTLS opens new opportunities for improving agricultural preservation capabilities in Vietnam, aiming for sustainable and globally integrated agriculture.
