In previous time, thanks to bravely applying high technology to agricultural production, the model of growing safe vegetables of Thai Son Livestock Service Cooperative (Tu Son Commune, Kien Thuy District) led by Ms. Dong Thi Doanh, Director of Cooperative has created revenue of hundreds of millions VND per year, achieved economic efficiency of 5-7 times higher than traditional production, and created stable jobs for some local workers. As a result, it has created valuable products, contributed to raising income and building new rural areas.

Thai Son Livestock Service Cooperative (Thai Son Cooperative) was established in 2016 with 10 members, operating in the field of pig raising and aquaculture.
By 2018, realizing that the application of high technology in agricultural production would bring higher economic efficiency than traditional cultivation, Thai Son Cooperative has expanded the model of growing safe organic vegetables in Nai Son field (Tu Son Commune).
Ms. Dong Thi Doanh, Director of Cooperative, said that in the past, farmers engaged in traditional small-scale production, mainly cultivated low-quality, and low-yield crop plants.
In order to change production practices, with the support and facilitation of all levels and sectors, in recent years, Thai Son Cooperative has signed contracts to lease agricultural land with 100 households, with an area of 02 hectares to grow safe organic vegetables; associated with 8 households having agricultural land to directly participate in the production and consumption of safe vegetables.
Owing to loans for investment and business association for output product consumption, the cooperative has favorable conditions to build a safe vegetable production area with high technology application.
The cooperative got 50% support for net house construction. Depending on each season, the cooperative uses high-yield, good-quality crop plants such as: cherry tomatoes, baby cucumbers, super sweet melons, cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower, leafy vegetables...
All stages from sowing stage to harvesting stage are strictly controlled and closed to ensure optimal nutritional value and yield for vegetables.
With the motto of producing safe organic vegetables, the cooperative does not use chemical fertilizers and only utilizes microbiologically composted cow manure, and organic pesticides that are safe for plants and users.
Ms. Dong Thi Doanh also said that on average, each month the cooperative collects 4-5 tons of vegetables and fruits with a revenue of 50-60 million VND/month. The cooperative has 7 employees; the average salary is 4-5 million/month depending on each time. Excluding costs, the cooperative earns an average profit of 20 million VND per month.
The cooperative signed contracts to sell safe products, provide clean food for educational institutions, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc... in the city area.
By carefulness and thoughtfulness, putting product quality on the first place, the model of growing safe vegetables of Thai Son Cooperative has been known by business units and actively contacted to sign contracts for product consumption. Currently, MM Mega Market supermarket (Hong Bang District) is in the process of carrying out evaluation procedures to import vegetables for consumption.
The high-tech vegetable growing model brings higher economic efficiency than traditional methods.
According to Ms. Doanh, the most difficult thing in the process of applying high technology to agricultural production is fund resources. Because, it is necessary to have a long-term strategy and large capital for equipment and machinery such as:seeding machines, insecticide sprayers, automatic watering systems, Internet management systems, etc...
Besides, the effects of natural disasters and weather also greatly affect production; the acquisition and application of scientific and technical applications is still limited...
Mr. Dong Duy Cuong, Chairman of Tu Son Commune People's Committee, said that the high-tech agricultural model is an inevitable trend of current economic development. With the needs of the market, clean and safe vegetable products are very interested by consumers.
In order to support the safe vegetable production model with high-tech application of Thai Son Cooperative, authorities at all levels have also had to work together: Officers of Agricultural Extension Center of Kien Thuy District regularly inspect and provide technical guidance to workers during the cultivation and preservation of products.
The Commune People's Committee also actively supports the cooperative in propagating and mobilizing local people for accumulating agricultural land in a concentrated area specializing in safe vegetable production. Annually, it is important to dredge irrigation ditches in the fields, clear the flow to ensure irrigation for agricultural production as well as installelectricity systems for production.
In addition, the Commune People's Committee also cooperates with functional departments and agencies to open training courses on propagating the application of science and technology to cultivation, improving production levels in combination with ensuring environmental safety and hygiene.
It can be seen that the high-tech vegetable growing model of Thai Son Cooperative not only helps to increase people's income, but also makes a significant contribution to the implementation of new rural construction programs in the locality.
