Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung, Vice Chairman of the Eastern Highway Economic Corridor Council attended a conference to summarize the Council's activities in 2023 and implement the 2024 plan in Quang Ninh. The conference was organized by the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry VCCI in collaboration with Quang Ninh province with the participation of leaders of 4 provinces and cities including Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen.
The Eastern Highsway Economic Corridor Agreement (VEHEC) began implementation from July 2022 until now with the consensus of the four localities and the coordination of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry VCCI. In facing of many difficulties in the global and domestic economy, 4 localities in the VEHEC as well as VCCI have made efforts to overcome challenges, strengthen cooperation, and share experiences to successfully achieve goals of economic development in 2023.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that in 2023, 4 provinces and cities of VEHEC will achieve many successes in socio-economic development, attracted investment, and improved the business environment. Furthermore, it is necessary to promote communication and promotion of Hai Phong - Quang Ninh tourism, in order to enhance the price of tourism brands associated with the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago on digital platforms and communication channels of the Council and VCCI; link and develop inter-regional tourism products with localities and strengthen trade promotion activities of OCOP agricultural, forestry and fishery products of these localities.
At the Conference, leaders of 4 provinces, cities and VCCI witnessed the launching ceremony of the Eastern Highway Economic Sub region Business Council and the appointment ceremony of handing the position of co- chairman of the VEHEC Council in 2024 from Hung Yen province to Quang Ninh province.
