On the morning of August 18, at Vinpearl Imperia Hai Phong Hotel, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in collaboration with Vietnam Cement Corporation held a scientific conference themed "The development of Vietnam cement industry in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country", chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of Politburo, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.
The conference was attended by Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies, and leaders of relevant ministries, departments.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed the breakthrough of Vietnam cement industry to gradually become one of the important pillars of Vietnam industry, in which the tranformation happened radically, comprehensively in the direction of modern management. In his viewpoint, The cement industry should restructure the industry, innovate the model, make the most of the available capacitythrough network growth, contributing to the sustainable development of other economic sectors.
He also held that it was necessary to continue to develop Vietnam Cement Corporation as a key leading enterprise of Vietnam cement industry with a large scale, advanced technology, modern management model, competitive capacity at the regional and international levels, and take the lead in environmental protection. Vietnam Cement Corporation should play a leading role developing the cement industry in line with the construction materials development strategy of Vietnam in the period of 2021-2030, with orientation to 2050.
