The city's Department of Science and Technology lately associated with the institute for sea natural resources and environment to hold a scientific workshop named:" developing Haiphong to a sea science and technology hub in the spirit of the Politburo's resolution No.45".
At the workshop, delegates presented scientific reports on measures to boost development to international scale at the institute for sea natural resources and environment, status, orientations for developing sea science and technology in Haiphong, developing maritime science and technology, forwarding to the protection of marine resources and environment.
Haiphong is an import ant traffic point and the main gateway to the sea of northern provinces. Basing on the potential and advantages as well as results achieved in the city's social, economic development cause in general, marine science and technology in particular, the Politburo has issued resolution No.45 on building and developing Haiphong. It stressed on the task of building and developing Haiphong to become an international center of education and training, researches for sea economic technology and science development and application.
One of the solutions and measures in 2020- 2025 tenure set in resolutions of the city's 16th party congress are developing science and technology, promoting creative renovation, becoming the nation's science and technology center, boosting international cooperation with developed nations in the world in the field of science and technology, particularly marine science and technology./.
