Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son Attends “Tet Reunion – Spring of Gratitude to the Party” with Hai Phong Workers and Employees

On the morning of January 16, at the Viet-Tiep Friendship Labour Cultural Palace, the Hai Phong City Federation of Labour held a program to present Tet gifts to workers, policy beneficiary families, and near-poor households under the theme “Tet Reunion – Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” in celebration of Lunar New Year 2025.

Attending to share the joy of Tet and give gifts to workers and disadvantaged households in the city were Comrade Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Thai Thu Xuong, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Nguyen Binh Minh, Chief of Staff of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and representatives from central ministries and agencies.

On behalf of the city leadership were Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong’s National Assembly Delegation; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; Vice Chairpersons of the City People’s Council and People’s Committee; Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong; leaders of departments, agencies, units, and localities, along with a large number of workers and labourers in the city.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son shared with officials, union members, and workers some key achievements in the country’s socio-economic development in 2024, and emphasized that Hai Phong contributed significantly to these results. He praised the city government and trade unions for paying attention to the lives of officials, civil servants, and workers.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that every Tet holiday, the Party and State always care for workers with the spirit that every citizen and worker should enjoy a joyful and warm New Year. With such care, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that each official, civil servant, and worker would continue to contribute to the prosperity, civility, and happiness of the city, so that Hai Phong continues to be a leading locality in the country’s economic and social development and renewal.

At the event, the Deputy Prime Minister, together with leaders of Hai Phong city and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, handed over 100 Tet gift packages to disadvantaged workers, policy families, and poor households in the city.

On the occasion of Tet 2025, the Hai Phong Federation of Labour has directed trade unions at all levels to focus on negotiating with employers regarding salary payments, Tet bonuses, and 13th-month salaries for workers; more than 4,000 gift packages will be given to union members and disadvantaged workers. Trade unions at all levels are organizing programs such as “Union Tet Market”, “Tet reunion – Spring of gratitude to the Party 2025” with many practical and meaningful activities for workers.

The Hai Phong People’s Committee allocated 10 billion VND to give 5,000 Tet gifts to workers. Trade unions in the city have coordinated with employers to pay Tet bonuses and use union funds to care for workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over 1,850 billion VND. This year’s Tet care budget increased by 40% compared to last year.

Also on the morning of January 16, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, together with leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Government Office, and Hai Phong city, visited and gave Tet gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Be and wounded veteran Le The Vy living in Hai An district.
