On the morning of December 9, Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and leaders of departments and agencies of Ministry visited, gave gifts and wished HaiPhong Department of Natural Resources and Environment on the occasion of Lunar New Year. Mr. Le Anh Quan, Member of Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also attended the meeting.

Wishing all officials and employees of the city's natural resources and environment sector to achieve more success and outstanding results in 2022, Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the city leaders' attention and support to the natural resources and environment sector. This is the basis for HaiPhong Department of Natural Resources and Environment to have proactive and effective ways of doing things as a good example of many other units. He suggested that in 2022, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should focus on changing the way of thinking, managing and using resources, and changing attitudes towards the environment of society and community which focus on recovering, not increasing pressure on natural resources and environment; paying attention to choosing an appropriate and environmentally friendly economic model. He suggested the City urgently complete the planning on urban management and specialized management. On that basis, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should advise the City to make plans and master plans on land use at district level and inter-district level to ensure high efficiency and clearly identify the use of resources; limit the situation of slowly putting land into use for projects. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment advises the City to urgently review and classify projects that are slow to put land into use, and urgently have solutions to remove problems within authority for projects to be restarted soon. The Minister requested that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment soon build a land database because this is the basis for multi-purpose management, serving the reform of administrative procedures in the land sector. In order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of management, Natural Resources and Environment sector continuously review and adjust the apparatus in the direction of highly specialized staffs, clear responsibilities, with mechanisms to protect employees; at the same time, give priority to strengthening technical facilities, apply information technology; strengthen post-licensing inspection, examination.

In 2022, Department of Natural Resources and Environment defined overall goals as follows: strengthen administrative discipline, promote digital transformation, focus on building specialized databases; actively participate in perfecting policies and laws to create a breakthrough in management, efficient and economical use of natural resources, harmoniously deal with economic development and environmental protection, proactively respond to climate change./.
